This week we’re shouting out one of Boon Adventures's leaders cookie!

Cookie works on Boon Adventure's alongside her co-hosts representing a theme of choice every month full of events, prizes and other things to get the community involved in something that rewards them and to enjoy. 

 

We asked Maze Owner cookie a few questions about her art & graphics abilities for aspiring artists out there ….

linds: What made you interested in art / pixel art?

cookie: I LOVE to create. I love exploring ALL sorts of art mediums, and I just love color! One of my absolute favorite things to be able to say is, "I made that.", whether it be about a painting, drawing, refashioned clothing, pixel art, crafts, ceramics, costumes, etc.

devi: How did you start learning how to draw graphics!

 

cookie: Pixel art is something I just picked up a little over a year ago after joining Boon Adventures. I applied to BA as a builder, and ended up taking on all the roles with learning wired, gfx, and badge making. BA has REALLY brought a whole new realm of art into my life and I'm going to be forever grateful to Habboon/BA for that. My first ever piece of pixel art is a really badly drawn Candyland pawn badge that I created for my Candyland EHA event. From there, I just kept learning and learning! P.S. If you ever want to learn how to get into pixel art, you can check out the Pixel by Pixel discord server. We have a fun community of artists from habboon who share artwork and tips/tricks, OR you can PM me personally (I'm always open to teaching!). I even suggest submitting artwork to the Pixel by Pixel article weekly if you want to get better at pixel art! You'd be amazed at how much progress people who submit artwork to it have made!!

A reader asks, "How do you know when you're only in a relationship out of habit and not because you're still in love with him/ her?"

linds: if you have any doubts then there's most likely a reason why you're feeling that way. i would definitely take the time to reflect on what you like and don't like about your relationship and see if you actually want to fix it. i recommend talking to your partner as well and seeing if there's solutions. being open and honest is one of the only ways to maintain a healthy relationship!

devi: If you're asking this question, I feel like there's probably some serious doubts with your love towards your partner. Try reflecting on why you feel this way.

 

 

A reader asks, "What is the best thing to do when you're feeling burnt out on creative/artisty stuff?"

linds: you definitely dont want to push yourself to keep going. change environments too! i like to sit outside and read/write sometimes, i'll go for walks and get ideas for things, etc. also make sure you're sleeping and eating good cuz that affects you more than you think!

 

devi: Take a break- leave your art/whatever project you're working on out but go do something else for however long it takes. Only pick it back up when you feel urged to. A clear mind clears all blocks
