Welcome to Pixel by Pixel hosted by cookie and furry!

This is a weekly article contest where you get to create a form of pixel art according to the weekly theme. This is the place for all gfx, badges, room ads, custom avatar art, custom furni, and anything pixel art related, where you can showcase your creativity!

1. Original work only. We will be checking every artwork as they are submitted. If plagiarism is found you will be banned from entering the competition.

2. Badges, custom furni, room ads, custom avatars, banners, gfx, and anything pixel art related are all permitted forms of art that you can submit.

3. No direct recolors of existing furni. If you plan on recoloring, at least customize the design of the furni.

4. Poor quality images will not be judged.

5. You must submit your piece through an imgur or tumblr link.

6. If the scores are tied, we will use a randomiser to determine who receives which place.

7. Please note more rules may be added in the future!

 

A special Pixel by Pixel Showcase room located in the staff picks section of the navigator will showcase the winning pixel art! Winning pixel art will stay on display for 3 weeks, along with other winners!  Make sure to stop on by and invite your friends to admire the artwork!

Along with the prizes above, winners will get to choose which badge they get from the badges below! 

 

To keep things fair, we will be grading everyone’s artwork based on a rubric we’ve made! There are 5 categories you can earn up to 5 points in for a total of 25 points. The person with the highest score every week is the winner! 

 

We will be linking 1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place’s rubrics every week so that winners have a chance at looking at the constructive criticism left and to see what they scored in each category.

Want to get started with pixel art but don’t know where to start? 

 

Take a look at the advice submitted below by your fellow Habboon users who have submitted artwork to Pixel by Pixel! We will be alternating this advice weekly based on who submits advice, so stay tuned!

If you require further assistance or have any questions at all, don’t forget to join our Pixel by Pixel discord server! We have tutorials, advice, and suggestions channels set up so that all users can converse and become better artists!

Occasionally on Pixel by Pixel there will be themes that are gfx specific. What we mean by this is that we might just ask specifically for banners one week, or badges, or avatars! When a theme is gfx specific we will state it here.

This week is not gfx specific!

Create something kitchen related! You can make a room ad, a furniture, a badge, or even a kitchen themed outfit! It is all up to you! Get creative!

You are allowed to use existing Habbo furniture, badges, clothing, etc. as a base, but the overall design must be 80% designed by you.

All entries must be submitted by Sunday MARCH 26th, 12:00 A.M CST.

Results are released shortly after voting is closed or as soon as possible.

PIXEL BY PIXEL EVENTS ARE BACK!

In case you want a recap of what happens at our events:

Once (or more) a month, we will be hosting events in our own Pixel by Pixel themed events room. We will, of course, keep you informed of when we will be hosting through our weekly article and through our Pixel by Pixel discord server.

Once a month we will have a badge gfx specific theme. The first place winner’s badge will be the badge given out as a prize at these events! We can’t wait to see you all soon!
