Welcome to Pixel by Pixel hosted by cookie and furry!

This is a weekly article contest where you get to create a form of pixel art according to the weekly theme. This is the place for all gfx, badges, room ads, custom avatar art, custom furni, and anything pixel art related, where you can showcase your creativity!

To celebrate Easter, we’ll be hosting an easter themed daily prompt contest! We have a daily prompt channel in our Pixel by Pixel discord server where art prompts are posted daily for users to draw to practise their drawing skills/just for fun! Occasionally, we host a contest where all the posts submitted during an amount of time will be entered in a raffle and whoever is drawn, wins!

This time, we will be hosting an easter themed daily prompt contest which will consist of easter themed daily art prompts only, and every time a user submits a drawing within the 2 weeks that the contest lasts, they’ll earn a raffle ticket. At the end of the 2 weeks, winners will be randomly drawn to win prizes, anyone who submits a valid entry into the contest will receive a badge - so don’t miss out!

1. Original work only. We will be checking every artwork as they are submitted. If plagiarism is found you will be banned from entering the competition.

2. Badges, custom furni, room ads, custom avatars, banners, gfx, and anything pixel art related are all permitted forms of art that you can submit.

3. No direct recolors of existing furni. If you plan on recoloring, at least customize the design of the furni.

4. Poor quality images will not be judged.

5. You must submit your piece through an imgur or tumblr link.

6. If the scores are tied, we will use a randomiser to determine who receives which place.

7. Please note more rules may be added in the future!

A special Pixel by Pixel Showcase room located in the staff picks section of the navigator will showcase the winning pixel art! Winning pixel art will stay on display for 3 weeks, along with other winners!  Make sure to stop on by and invite your friends to admire the artwork!

Along with the prizes above, winners will get to choose which badge they get from the badges below! 

To keep things fair, we will be grading everyone’s artwork based on a rubric we’ve made! There are 5 categories you can earn up to 5 points in for a total of 25 points. The person with the highest score every week is the winner! 

We will be linking 1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place’s rubrics every week so that winners have a chance at looking at the constructive criticism left and to see what they scored in each category.

Want to get started with pixel art but don’t know where to start? 

Take a look at the advice submitted below by your fellow Habboon users who have submitted artwork to Pixel by Pixel! We will be alternating this advice weekly based on who submits advice, so stay tuned!

If you require further assistance or have any questions at all, don’t forget to join our Pixel by Pixel discord server! We have tutorials, advice, and suggestions channels set up so that all users can converse and become better artists!

Occasionally on Pixel by Pixel there will be themes that are gfx specific. What we mean by this is that we might just ask specifically for banners one week, or badges, or avatars! When a theme is gfx specific we will state it here.

This week is not gfx specific.

Grab your butterfly nets - we’re going insect hunting! This theme is not gfx specific, so you can make a badge, a furni, a wearable, or even a room ad, anything related to insects/bugs is fine, as long as it’s incorporated somewhere in your design!

You are welcome to use existing furniture or graphics as a GUIDE but your artwork must be 75% YOURS. 

All entries must be submitted by Sunday APRIL 30th, 12:00 A.M CST.

Results are released shortly after voting is closed or as soon as possible.

PIXEL BY PIXEL EVENTS ARE BACK!

In case you want a recap of what happens at our events:

Once (or more) a month, we will be hosting events in our own Pixel by Pixel themed events room. We will, of course, keep you informed of when we will be hosting through our weekly article and through our Pixel by Pixel discord server.

Once a month we will have a badge gfx specific theme. The first place winner’s badge will be the badge given out as a prize at these events! We can’t wait to see you all soon!
