Welcome to Pixel by Pixel, hosted by Foxy and Bran!

Thank you hensem for the lovely graphics!

This is a weekly article contest where you get to create a form of pixel art according to the weekly theme. This is the place for all gfx, badges, room ads, custom avatar art, custom furni, and anything pixel art related, where you can showcase your creativity!

Original work only. We will be checking every artwork as they are submitted. If plagiarism is found, you will be banned from entering the competition.

Badges, custom furniture, room ads, custom avatars, banners, gfx, and anything pixel art related are all permitted forms of art that you can submit.

No direct recolors of existing furniture or clothing. If you plan on recoloring, at least customize the design of the furniture or clothing.

Poor quality images will not be judged.

You must submit your piece through an Imgur or Tumblr link.

If the scores are tied, we will use a randomiser to determine who receives which place.

Along with the prizes above, winners will get to choose which badge they receive from the badges below!

To keep things fair, we will be grading everyone’s artwork based on a rubric we’ve made! There are 5 categories you can earn up to 5 points in for a total of 25 points. The person with the highest score every week is the winner!

We will be linking 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places’ rubrics every week so that winners have a chance at looking at the constructive criticism left and to see what they scored in each category.

Occasionally on Pixel by Pixel, there will be themes that are gfx specific. What we mean by this is that we might just ask for specifically banners one week, or badges, or avatars! When a theme is gfx specific, we will state it here.

The theme for this MONTH is…

Christmas Badges

As you know, Christmas is one of the busiest seasons of the hotel, and we want to prepare for an amazing season for everyone online and involved.

For the entire month of November (November 7th - November 28th), we will be allowing YOU to create the Christmas badges that will be featured on the hotel for this season!

There are some rules for this 3-week long theme, so listen up carefully!

1. Each user is allowed to create 3 badges each throughout these 3 weeks.

(This does not guarantee that all 3 of your badges will be selected, but we want to see all of your creations and pick from there. If you submit more than 3 badges, only the first 3 submitted will be considered. Not only will we be using these badges for daily log-in rewards throughout the entire month of December, but some will also be chosen to be featured as prizes for other articles that run during the season, including Pixel by Pixel for our upcoming themes.)

2. This theme is GFX specific, we are seeking BADGES only. Any other submissions that are not badges will not be graded at the end of the 3 weeks.

3. Any badges are allowed, as long as they are strictly Christmas themed.

(Some ideas: candycanes, elfs, Christmas trees, mistletoes, Christmas tree ornaments, Santa Claus, reindeers, presents/present boxes, gingerbread houses/men, snowmen/snow related themes, et cetera. The possibilities are endless.)

4. NO plagiarism. We will be checking each and every submission for plagiarism to ensure that everything submitted is authentic and exclusive to the hotel.

Our top 3 favorite badges will be given the normal Pixel by Pixel prizes, and all badges chosen will be given to their respective creators. We are so excited to see your creations!
